To meet that demand, and extend the Alliance’s impact and reach, it became equally clear that additional financial resources must be developed. The new Arts Action Alliance Foundation was created to support the important work of the Clackamas County Arts Alliance. Through its Helpline, Mentor, Artist Registry, Public Art programs, Resource Inventory and quarterly newsletter, the Alliance provides technical assistance, information and practical support to hundreds of artists and cultural organizations in the County. The Foundation was incorporated in Oregon in April 2003 and in November 2003 it received tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service as a charitable non-profit organization. The Foundation will raise funds to benefit programs, services, operations and activities which develop and promote arts and culture in the County, for the benefit of all its citizens. This task will be accomplished through a variety of strategies, planned and led by a small volunteer Board of Directors, including Chuck Clemans and El Dannen. They are supported by Cheryl Snow, serving as Foundation staff. As the Foundation moves forward with its work, there will be opportunities for public engagement and participation. Suggestions and creative ideas are most welcome and appreciated! If you wish to become involved with the Foundation, please contact Board or staff at 503-655-0525.
